Video Testing of the User Interface
- A yellow hatch pattern is used to mark keys that do not have make-break scan codes.
- A red hatch pattern on the lower half of a key indicates that the 'make' scan code has yet to be detected, and on the upper half of the key, it indicates that the 'break' scan code has yet to be detected.
- A green hatch pattern on the lower or upper half indicates that the respective scan code has been detected.
- During the nine cycles, x.x indicates the count of scan codes detected (make.break). If the result is a 9.9, the background changes from white to green.
- A purple hatch pattern indicates that no scan codes were detected, the key switch needs to be replaced.
Video Testing of the Keyboard through the XYZ Axis Machine
I'm sorry to say that when I tested four of Robert's keyboard prepared for shipment, each had one or more mal-functioning key. Robert's testing program required a manual press of each key. With 100+ keys per keyboard testing is a finger numbing, time consuming process. For this reason I developed this XYZ machine. It uses a decaying Z key press step to find the key's 'Make' code, an incremental rising Z step to find the key's 'Break' code. If no errors then the key is cycled nine (9) times. Part of the reason for the Nine (9) cycle testing process is to identify weak keys. The results are shown above each key as it is tested as shown in the UI video. The final (BMP) is saved to a database and in addition, will be sent to the client as part of a Quote or Invoice.

Keyboard Cleaning Techniques
I am now capable of eliminating your unsightly orange and yellow discoloration, though the process may be slow and require multiple applications of the solution as well as exposure to sunlight. Even still, this treatment is effective in restoring the original color. With this now-desired remedy comes a small cost—$30—but customers will find its effectiveness counters any potential skepticism.

Additional fees for necessary parts will apply.
For any 101Ps, 102Ps, Ultra TP's, Ultra's, Avant Prime, and Avant Stellar that require refurbishing, I will remove the bad programming chip at NC. The UPS ground-insured shipping fees will be the actual cost plus $10.00 for packaging and handling, whereas multiple keyboards will cost an additional $6.00 for packaging. If payment remains unpaid for repairs exceeding 90 days, keyboards will be considered abandoned and sold for repair costs.
Policy Regarding Warranties and Exchanges
Rest assured, I stand behind my work. In the unlikely event that you encounter any problem or experience a switch malfunction within the first 30 days after I repaired or replaced it, send it back to me and I will fix it with no charge for labor. However, new parts may be required, and they will be charged accordingly. As for the shipping, you are responsible for sending it to me, but I will cover the cost of returning it to you. Please note that the keyboard must be returned in its original packaging to avoid additional charges.
For switches replaced between 45 and 90 days, the cost will be $6.00 per installation, plus return shipping and packaging (if necessary). For switches replaced between 90 and 180 days, the amount will be $12.00 per installation, plus return shipping and packaging.
The best way to ship a keyboard is to:
a) Place a layer of bubble wrap over the keys,
b) Inserting the keyboard and wrap into a plastic bag,
c) Fold over the bag opening,
d) Seal (tape) the bag closed,
e) Wrap with packing materials (foam, bubble wrap, etc.) such that pressure is applied the inner bubble wrap when enclosed in the shipping container,
f) Inclose the wrapped item into a shipping container (box).
The plastic bag is used since shipping can involve a serious amount of dust. The Mechanical Keys are susceptible to dust accumulating in the interior of of the key switch.
The inner bubble wrap is used to keep the keys from oscillating during shipment.
Multiple keyboards can be placed in the same shipping container such that package pressure is applied to/through all keyboards.
